Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Navigation Church | Las Vegas, NV based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is the supreme source of truth for Christian faith and living.
The Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). These three are co-equal and co-eternal, each fully God, yet one essence.
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, the sovereign creator and sustainer of all things (Genesis 1:1). He is all-knowing, all-powerful, and perfectly holy.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the dual nature of Jesus Christ as both fully man and full God. Born of a virgin, Jesus lived a sinless life, was crucified in atonement for humanities collective sin and rose to life again in three days. (John 1:1, Luke 1:34-35). Grace through faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:8).
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who works in the lives of believers, empowering them for godly living and ministry (John 14:16-17, Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and righteousness (John 16:8) and bestows gifts to believers to promote the common good of the body of Christ and to build up the church in serve to God. (1 Corinthians 12:7, 14:12)
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is not earned by our own efforts but is a gift from God through Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection.
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23), composed of all who have placed their faith in Jesus. The Church is called to fulfill the Great Commission, making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20).
Baptism and Communion
We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church. Baptism is the outward expression of faith in Christ, and communion is a reminder of Christ’s sacrifice for us that is done when we are gathered for reflection, gratitude and unity (Matthew 28:19, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom (Acts 1:11). He will judge the living and the dead and reign forever (Revelation 22:12-13).
Resurrection and Eternal Life
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost (John 5:28-29). Believers will experience eternal life with God, while the lost will face eternal separation from Him.
